Jessica Simpson has pitched an idea for a new reality show based on female beauty to US television networks. The singer and actress is reported to have devised a series called The Price Of Beauty, which would focus on women’s bodies and society’s treatment of female appearance.
“She and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why,” explained an insider. Each episode is said to also focus on “shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful – picture Fear Factor”.
A representative for the star said: “Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalised at this time.” Simpson, 28, previously starred in MTV’s fly-on-the-wall documentary series Newlyweds, which revolved around her married life with then-husband Nick Lachey.
